Rubbing salt into the wounds of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched a frontal attack on the Arvind Kejriwal-led government after another party MLA Surinder Singh’s name cropped up in the fake degree row and said that ‘fake people’ will only give ‘fake development’ to Delhi.
“It is astonishing to learn that cases after cases are tumbling out of the cupboard of the Aam Aadmi Party. It is only yesterday that Jitendra Singh Tomar was arrested for faking certificates and today we learn that one more MLA of the AAP, Surinder Singh, also had forged documents. In fact, he has not passed from the university from where he has claimed to have passed, that is the Sikkim University,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.
“The issue is what kind of fake people are ruling Delhi today, if such kind of fake people are made ministers, if such kind of fake people are MLAs, then will we not have fake development of Delhi,” he added.
AAP MLA Surinder Singh is now likely to be questioned for reportedly acquiring fake degree from the Sikkim University.
Surinder has claimed to have acquired his degree from the Sikkim University in 2012. However, the RTI response from the university states that the AAP leader does not exist in its records.
This comes a day after AAP leader Jitendra Singh Tomar was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the fake degree row.
