Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said that his government was looking to provide broadband connectivity round the clock in just Rs. 149. Speaking in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) partnership summit 2018 he said that this facility is not available anywhere across the globe. “Now I can say proudly that in every home I can give broadband connectivity. 300 channels, video, free telephones and WiFi can be connected in Rs. 149. This kind of facility isn’t available anywhere in the world,” Naidu was quoted as saying while addressing the summit.
Earlier in the day, speaking at the three-day international conference on “Innovation, incubation and industrialisation” organised by the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India in Visakhapatnam, the chief minister said that his government has been encouraging women entrepreneurs as they play an important role in economic development of the state. “Women entrepreneurs are a key to economic development. It is everyone responsibility to encourage women for their economic development,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.
He said that there were 90 lakh women members in self-help groups who are working hard to improve the financial condition of their families. He added that women are also doing well in the information technology sector, where their performances are more than that of their male counterparts.
Naidu also said that in order establish industrial hubs in all 175 Assembly segments of the state with the aim to encourage entrepreneurship. The state has a number of advantages like good rail, road air connectivity and a long coastline which are important for industrial development. There are seven to eight ports and the state government decided to develop further six ports and two new airports, the chief minister added.
