Congress leader Tara Chand today said the Jammu and Kashmir government should provide all facilities at relief camps for people from border villagers who are facing difficulty due to shelling and firing along the LoC in Pallanwala-Khour sector.
“The state government should ensure full facilities for border residents at the camps setup for them in border belts of Jammu. They are facing difficult times,” he told reporters here today.
Tara Chand, who made a whirlwind visit of the border migrants camps and interacted with the border people in Pallanwala-Khour sector of Akhnoor tehsil in Jammu district, said, “Government has not done enough for them. The measures have not been taken in advance.”
The former Deputy Chief Minister asked government to provide full-proof facilities for border migrants.
Expressing his concern on the plight of border migrants after escalation of tension between India and Pakistan, he said, “The authorities should provide ration, drinking water, electricity and medicare facilities within the camp.”
Expressing regret over the migrants condition, he said that state government has not taken adequate measures for the temporary settlement of these “helpless” villagers in camps.
He said most of these people were either located in some schools and ashrams while some of them have taken refuge in their relatives homes.

He also asked the authorities to gear up its machinery and provide all requisite arrangements for their facilities.
