Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 hit Koyna, Maharashtra in the early hours of Friday. It’s a medium intensity measuring around 4.4 on the Richter Scale.
Although, strong tremors were felt, no loss of life has yet been reported. Many people also tweeted about the earthquake even though the tremor hit early in the morning.
Last week, two earthquake measuring 4.4 and 5 on richter scale had rocked the north east part of the country.
States of Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur are considered sixth major earthquake-prone area in the world. An earthquake of 6.8 had rocked West Bengal, Bihar and Assam last August, which had its epicentre in Myanmar. The same month, tremors with its epicentre in Haryana was felt in parts of Delhi which had of 3.7 magnitude.
