An Earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale, according to the National Seismological Bureau, jolted parts of North India. Wth Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand, the tremors of the quake was felt in Delhi for 30 seconds. Tremors were also felt in Mussoriee, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Saharanpur, Pithoragarh, Mathura, Rishikesh, Shamli and Chandigarh. According to the United States Grological Survey, the earthquake measuring 5.4 magnitude was reported with the epicenter 35 km west-north-west of Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand. J L Gautam, Operations head at the National Seismological Bureau, said that the depth of the quake was 33 km and it occurred at 10:33 pm.
