Designer Rohit Bal was arrested on Friday morning in Delhi for allegedly fighting with one his neighbours. The report said that Bal was arrested along with 3 of his employees after they got into a brawl with his neighbour.

Designer Rohit Bal was arrested on Friday morning in Delhi for allegedly fighting with one his neighbours, reported CNN-News 18. The report said that Bal was arrested along with 3 of his employees after they got into a brawl with his neighbour. The incident took place at 1 am when Rohit was allegedly drunk and some argument led to a fight where the neighbour was beaten. What exactly led to this brawl is still not clear. He was later granted bail. The arrest was made from the Defence Colony area of Delhi.

Bal is known for is a unique touch of Indian craftsmanship and in a recent interview with PTI had said that local craft in his designs is his biggest strength. Bal had said that he is obsessed with Indian textiles and makes sure to use it in his creations. “I only imbibe Indian textile and craftsmanship in my designs – thats is my signature style. Whatever forms my source of inspiration, I would Indianise it and make sure I incorporate as much elements of our rich craftsmanship as possible in my collection, thats what I am obsessed with,” he was quoted saying.

He had said that fashion is becoming mainstream in India and will grow in the coming years. “I think men’s fashion, retail and the whole business is huge in the country now. I feel now men’s fashion is becoming mainstream, it’s as important as womens fashion. It’s not just about the designers, it’s about big and collective brands, every store has menswear collection so it is quite becoming a rage in India,” he had added.
