Cricketer Gautam Gambhir today took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to vent out his frustration over waterlogging in several parts of the national capital. The cricketer wondered where is Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal when the entire capital is “sinking”.  “नादान परिंदे घर आजा.. Rains came from Kerala, CM couldn’t make it from Punjab..टूटी सड़कें बुरा हाल, कहाँ खो गए केजरीवाल,” he tweeted.

In a series of tweets, Gambhir pointed out the apathy of civic authorities who “fail” to solve “basic civic troubles” in the city. In Tweet he said, “Maybe it’s time we started buying boats in Delhi since the authorities responsible can’t solve basic civic troubles! #DelhiRains”. In a jibe at AAP government’s famous ‘Odd-Even’ scheme for managing traffic on the city roads, the cricketer tweeted, “Odd and even boats for Delhi now, maybe ? Ridiculous drainage facilities in the capital! #DelhiRains”.

Gambhir was not the only one who took potshots at the Delhi government. Several people took to the twitter to vent out their frustration as scores of them were stranded on roads due to water logging. With heavy rains lashing the national capital today morning, even the arrival of US Secretary of State John Kerry at IIT Delhi for a function was delayed. When he finally did arrive, Kerry jokingly asked the students, “Have you come here in boats?”.
