Tamil Nadu has seen a trail of film actors who have changed the direction of the mainstream politics since five decades. Kamal Haasan is likely to be the newest addition to the team. Haasan has been very active politically of late, often times levying corruption charges against the state government. He had congratulated the CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala for “good governance” on its first anniversary in May this year. He fuelled speculation about his expected political plunge when he attended an event organised by the DMK party in Chennai last month.
An AAP leader said that at this juncture the political scenario of the country is ” critical”.”The BJP government at the Centre has a clear agenda of breaking or bullying state governments and Opposition parties.., ”the AAP leader added. Haasan’s entry into the political scenario was predicted by many after he had made a series of politically laden comments against the infighting within the AIADMK after J Jayalalithaa’s death.
