When Odisha’s Dana Majhi’s pictures flashed across media channels, it sent across fizzy in the nation at the callous action of the Hospital authorities due to which the man had to carry his wife’s dead body for over 10 kms.

Media brought out Majhi’s pain and right people heard. Majhi, who was promised financial help by Bahrain’s Prime Minister Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cheque of Rs 8.87 lakh on the Prince’s behalf. He collected it from the Bahrain Embassy in Delhi on Thursday.

The Bahrain Prince who belongs to one of the richest Royal families of the world was moved after seeing the plight of the poor man in India.

Majhi, who does not really understand who has sent this vote of concern for him is still relieved that now he has some savings for the marriage of his three daughters.

Majhi, the man who’s story sent shivers down every Indian’s spine came into news when his wife died in a Hospital and the authorities did not provide him with an Ambulance to carry the body back home. As Majhi walked to his village carrying his wife’s dead body wrapped in a bedsheet, a News Channel found him. By the time the news went viral with the district authorities getting into prompt action, Majhi had already covered 10 kms. His village was apparently 60 kms away from the district Hospital in Bhawanipatna in Odisha where his wife had been admitted.

An ambulance was soon sent for his help as soon as the incident caught the media’s eye.
