In a shocking incident, a Hyderabad policeman was hit by a speeding car from behind. The incident took place in the Cyberabad area of the city late night. What is even heartbreaking is the fact when the policeman went down, no one stopped to help him. The entire accident was recorded on the CCTV camera and the video was shared by Times Now on its Twitter handle. In this video, a car is seen hitting the traffic policeman who was later identified as Laxman.

After hitting Laxman, the car driver stopped there for a few seconds but instead of helping the traffic policeman, he drove away from the spot. This is one of the latest and heartbreaking hit and run incidents in India. Even after the driver fled from the spot, no one came to help the policeman. In this video, it can be seen that as many as three motorcycles went past the spot but none of them stopped to help Laxman. Police have recovered the number of the car and are carrying out further investigations in the case.

Meanwhile, Laxman, who was finally taken to the hospital, was declared dead on arrival by the doctor. In a gesture that was touching and as opposite as it could be to the dastardly act by the car driver, his family decided to donate his kidneys. This incident has come to light just one day after the Hyderabad Police had said that there has been a decline in the number of road accidents occurring in the city this year as compared to last year.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, as of September, 232 fatal accidents occurred in the city this year, whereas 314 occurred within the same period last year. The Joint Traffic Commissioner said that this reduction is the result of precautionary measures implemented by the traffic police and the GHMC. He believes that implementation of the penalty point system has also had a major role to play in this.
