The Congress Party on Sunday attacked both the Central and the Delhi Government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the city, including the ‘worrisome’ murder of a teenage girl in the capital’s Anand Parbat locality.
“During the Congress’ time, there had been an unfortunate rape case here which was very shameful and we are ashamed of it even now. The Congress was finished in Delhi because BJP and today’s Chief Minister had made it into a huge issue,” Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said at a press briefing here.
“But after that the Central Government, which has been here for over a year and controls law and order, so many incidents have happened. And recently the case that happened two days ago, where a girl was stabbed multiple time, is very worrisome,” he added.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to either fix the security situation in the national capital or hand over the reins of the Delhi Police to the AAP Government.
While Kejriwal lashed out at the Centre and the Delhi Police, the Bharatiya Janata Party mocked the Chief Minister and his Deputy Manish Sisodia for their unfortunate display’ of empathy at the home of the teenage girl.
