CBI visits Manish Sisodia house: After Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) paid a visit to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence on Friday morning – the agency claims that it was just a ‘visit’ to seek a clarification about a preliminary enquiry (PE) against the minister – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh today lashed out at the Centre and said if it was not a ‘raid’, then why did CBI officials visit the deputy CM’s house. Singh asked, “Did they go for tea.”
CBI dropped in at Manish Sisodia’s house to take his statement on certain issues. Sisodia was under the CBI scanner for alleged irregularities in AAP government’s social media campaign ‘Talk to AK’. The agency had registered a PE against Sisodia on the basis of a complaint filed by Vigilance Department of the Delhi government related to alleged irregularities in a campaign launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Sanjay Singh was quoted by PTI as saying that instead of the daily harassment, the Centre should simply suspend the Delhi government. Singh said, “Today’s raid signals the resolve of the Centre to not let the AAP government work. The BJP wants to obliterate the opposition. The intention is to take revenge through relentless harassment.” He further added that ‘Talk to AK’ programme was held using the services of a public relations (PR) company, which did not charge the government. He further added that no tender had been floated for the campaign — a social media interaction with the public — as platforms such as Facebook and Google had no competition.
Meanwhile, another AAP leader, Sourabh Bharadwaj, held DIP (Directorate of Information and Publicity) responsible for not doing the job and that is why a PR company was chosen by the party. “One may question why a PR company was chosen… That’s because the DIP (Directorate of Information and Publicity) was not capable of doing the job,” he said.
