Toll plaza authorities have filed a case against six police personnel of Mathura for allegedly manhandling their staff and looting Rs 40,000 in cash, reported Times of India. Assistant manager of the plaza OP Yadav recalling the incident, said six policemen including Nitin Singh, the circle officer of Refinery circle came to the plaza and not only looted cash but also assaulted the staff. The incident happened on August 23rd sometime between 11: 45 PM and 1 AM.
The video shows cops entering the room where money was kept twice and taking a stash of cash each time. The cops allegedly looted Rs 40,000 from the toll.
OP Yadav further said that CCTV footage of the incident along with complaint has been submitted.
According to Yadav, the policemen could not enter the toll plaza because they were coming from the fast lane tag vehicles and did not have a tag following which a spat broke out between the policemen and the toll plaza staff. Yadav also alleged that the policemen even manhandled the staff.
Meanwhile, CO Nitin Singh has denied the allegations and has said that while he was on duty, three men had complained about toll staff overcharging.
Nitin Singh said a case under section (147) and (332) for rioting and voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty against 25 people has been filed including manager on duty Vinay Yadav has been registered.
