Mumbai police today registered a case against Shiv Sena spokesperson Arvind Bhosale and two others over a poster mocking former chief minister Narayan Rane, who quit the Congress last week. Rane was with the Shiv Sena before he joined the Congress in 2005. A case was registered against Bhosale and others under the Maharashtra Defacement of Public Property Act, said Gajanan Desurkar, senior inspector, Worli police station.
Content of the poster was objectionable so it was taken down by police, he added. The poster mocking Rane, put up in Worli area yesterday, had led to tension with some supporters of Rane taking objection.
