Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended greetings on the Buddha Purnima. “Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima,” PM Modi tweeted this morning. He also shared a photo on the Twitter. Notably, Buddha Purnima marks Gautama Buddha’s birth anniversary.
President Pranab Mukherjee also has wished people on the eve of Buddha Purnima. In his message, Mukherjee said Lord Buddha is a resplendent symbol of lofty idealism and concern for humanity. The president said Lord Buddha’s profound teachings of equality, love, kindness and tolerance are of increasing relevance in the present times.
