Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy today attacked superstar Rajinikanth over reports of his joining politics – this is a long-standing demand of his fans and many politicians from all parties have approached him in this regard from time to time to join them. Actors down South have been quite successful in politics. From MGR, Jayalalithaa to NTR Rama Rao, many southern superstars have become chief ministers. However, Swamy does not want Rajini in politics. According to an India Today report, Swamy advised Rajinikanth to stay out of politics. He explained why by adding that ‘Rajini’s sense of politics is very bad’, and went on to underline that by saying the superstar is ‘not well educated.’

Earlier today, the ‘Thalaivaa’ addressed his fans after a gap of 8 years at Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai and he did not exactly clarify his stand, leaving much for the public at large and his fans to ponder. While talking about the fate of his films, his future plans and his entry into politics he said, “God decides what we have to do in life. Right now, he wants me to be an actor and I’m fulfilling my responsibility. If God willing, I will enter politics tomorrow. If I enter, I will be very truthful and will not entertain people who are in this to make money. I won’t work with such people.”

He further talked about supporting the DMK-TMC alliance in the past and said, “About 21 years ago I was involved in a political accident, during that time for some reasons I had announced my support to a political coalition. And my fans and people of Tamil Nadu ensured a victory for that coalition. Since that day my name is being dragged in every time there is an election. And that’s the reason I keep clarifying that I don’t support any political party every time,” Indian Express quoted him as saying.

i like rajini and am a fan of him. nothing wrong what mr.swamy had said about rajini, who has the guts to talk about people like rajini. rajini is just an actor thats all , indian states for decades are victims of such actors and cricket celebrities who want to be CM's and simply sitting rajya shaba MP's. if they sit on the power centres, all they do is make the rich super rich and poor as always has briyani, fan, rice, breakfast ,waterbottle, lunch, dinner all free free free and at the cost of "middle cl indians who has to pay" and has no voice.

Rajnikanth is quite "well-educated"; Life has taught him a lot. He may not be "well-qualified". There's a difference between the two. It's quite funny that a well-qualified person like Swamy cannot see the difference. He probably isn't well educated!

who is not well educated, everybody is educated. swamy is not talking about degree certificate. ok let us draw an example from US president election, for one year world have seen trump, hillary and many other candidates debated and taken tough questions on open forum face to face. he should be ready if it happens here "the debate ", not emotionally stage shows as our politicians do with pre-paid audience/followers.

Ok, then what qualification Rajnikanth needs to enter politics, there is no school. He is well knowledged with latest issues and he discussed with his close people who are in politics, business and intellectuals. Anyone can enter politics.. a school teacher to any one. Let improve the quality of selves than quoting others. Subramaniam swamy will not het even 10 votes if he stands for any election, a person who do not have real friends and followers should not talk about RajniKanth.

Swami is always in the forefront of making unsolicited statements and advices. He failed to note Indian Cons utional founders did not think about education, but democracy. Kamaraj was not well educated as Swami is but still earns respect among Tamils and even other Indians much more than what Sami earns with his Harvard. If Swami's own party PM can rule the nation including Swami himself, nothing prevents Rajinikanth or anyone else, for that matter.
