The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has on on Tuesday cancelled recognition of 68 inter-colleges and 19 schools.
The step has been taken in connection with the 10+2 toppers scam, an ANI report has said.
Toppers scam rocked the state in earlier this year, when Ruby Rai, who was declared topper in arts earlier , was not able to answer basic questions on her subjects to a news channel.
Those who were arrested included ex-BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Singh, his wife Usha Singh, a former JD(U) MLA, a college principal Bachcha Rai and Ruby Rai herself.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Ruby Rai after she gave her re-test of the board exam on June 25 and was sent to Beur jail.
After the re-test, BSEB cancelled her result on the basis that her performance was not matching her rank in the Humanities and the police took her into custody the very same day. Along with her, other toppers of different subjects also had to give re-tests.
Ex-BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, wife Usha Sinha and Principal of Bishun Roy college in Vaishali, Bachha Rai, are among 21 suspects arrested in the case till now.
The incident had shocked the nation last June when scam came into light and state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and announced that strict actions would be taken against culprits.
