A 28-year-old Bengaluru techie was stabbed to death by two bike-borne men near a chocolate factory in Madiwala. The deceased was identified as Pranay Mishra, who was hailing from Bhubaneswar, according to a Times of India report. The victim was attacked at around 3 am when he was on his way to meet his girlfriend and colleague. According to police, Mishra stayed at his friend Balbir’s residence in Begur on Sunday and returned to his place at around 2.45 am. Later he called his girlfriend and asked her to meet him.
The incident came to light when the victim’s girlfriend called him and the phone was attended by a person, who informed about her about the incident. Locals said that the body was lying in a pool of blood, according to a New Indian Express report. Mishra was in a motor vehicle when he was accosted by two bike-borne men near the Chocolate Factory Junction, police said. He was stabbed many times in the stomach and neck, ToI indicated.
According to police, the duo fled after committing the crime. The victim was rushed to St John’s Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said. The police investigation is underway and the CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the junction have been collected, the report said.
Mishra came to Bengaluru after he completed his B.Tech degree in Computer Science. He was working with Accenture. Earlier, his sister Prachi Mishra also worked in Bengaluru as a techie. Police said the murder case was registered based on Prachi’s complaint.
