Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was criticised by BJP leader Vijender Gupta in the Delhi Assembly on Sunday for his statement that disbanding of Delhi Waqf Board without LG approval is ‘null and void’. He accused the AAP leader of trying to cover up their unconstitutional decisions by emotionally blackmailing people in Delhi.
Gupta said,”Delhi Government has been functioning in an unconstitutional manner. They are trying to cover up its unconstitutional decisions by emotionally blackmailing the people in Delhi.”
The leader who was speaking in the Assembly made this remark following Kejriwal’s questions on Saturday where he asked about the recalling of farmer compensations. Kejriwal had asked, “How can you turn the clock back? Where are we heading, complete chaos?” He referred to the disbanding of the Delhi Waqf Board by the lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung for the lacunae in installation. He had warned the Centre through a press conference that this will lead to bad consequences.
Against this, the BJP said that the LG’s approval is not needed in such cases and the decision to construct classrooms is taken by the department. ”The CM is misleading the people of Delhi”, BJP said to Kejriwal’s claim.
