Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Sunday turned into ‘ground zero’ for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as senior leaders and other supporters were seen rushing in and out of the residence through the day – a number of curious bystanders too were seen waiting outside, Indian Express reported. The report said that following Kapil Mishra’s allegations against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain, a number of AAP leaders were huddled together at the CM’s residence for meetings to chalk out the plan for the future. The report said that tension was very much perceptible, with most waiting in anticipation to find out what the chief minister’s response to the issue would be. However, there was a visible relaxation of the mood after Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia emerged and rubbished the allegations in totality. “Yesterday, I had called Kapil Mishra to inform him that the CM wanted a cabinet reshuffle. He was told that the reason for the decision was that several MLAs had complained about water shortage in their respective areas. They had to bear with people’s anger because of the crisis,” Sisodia said.
Earlier in the day, Mishra kicked-off a political storm as he accused chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of taking Rs 2 crore from cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain. “I saw with my own eyes Satyendar Jain giving Rs 2 crore in cash to Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. When I asked Kejriwal, he said such things happen in politics and it will be revealed later,” Mishra told a press conference earlier on Sunday. He also added that he would be proved right once ‘Satyendar Jain was sent to jail.’
Later in the day, he did a second press conference and said that he would submit the details of an alleged water tanker scam to Anti-Corruption Bureau (AAP). “I am going to give two persons names to ACB in connection with water tanker scam, Ashish Talwar and Vibhav Patel,” Mishra said, according to ANI. “Why was no action taken based on the report for a year? Who were responsible? I will share details of the involvement of two people who work in official capacity with Kejriwal with the ACB,” Mishra was quoted as saying by PTI. “Secondly, several party members have told me that Kejriwal has made up his mind to sack Jain in the next two-three days and preparations are on to get his resignation by Wednesday,” he told reporters.
