Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Monday trolled on Twitter as he has maintained maintained total silence in the ongoing Kapil Mishra issue, but chose to congratulate Emmanuel Macron who won the French presidential elections on Sunday night. Kejriwal took to Twitter and said, “Congratulations Emmanuel Macron. Your victory inspires all seeking inclusive, progressive ideas to take our world forward. Viva La France.” Twitter users, who were seemingly waiting to hear from the chief minister his reaction on the ongoing controversy, decided to troll Kejriwal.
Earlier, Kejriwal decided to stay away from media and sent his lieutenants Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh to address a presser on the issue. Sanjay Singh, who rejected corruption allegations against party chief Arvind Kejriwal in totality, said that Kapil Mishra’s claims are a result of his frustration after losing his ministerial berth in in the Delhi government. Singh added that Mishra’s allegations are a ‘bunch of lies’. He also took a jibe at BJP for trusting Mishra’s claims. Singh reminded them that the same Kapil Mishra had made grave allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It is the same Kapil Mishra who claimed that PM Narendra Modi is an agent of Pakistan’s ISI,” he said.

Earlier, Kapil Mishra a former minister in Delhi Government, created a political storm by alleging Kejriwal of receiving Rs 2 crore bribe from fellow minister Satyender Jain. “I saw with my own eyes Satyendar Jain giving Rs 2 crore in cash to Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. When I asked Kejriwal, he said such things happen in politics and it will be revealed later,” Mishra told a press conference earlier on Sunday.
Soon after Kapil Mishra’s allegation, deputy CM Manish Sisodia addressed media and termed the allegations as baseless. Sisodia said, “His allegations are not even worth responding to; they are so absurd and without any facts.”
