Hitting out strongly against the Opposition for their protest against demonetisation, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that those parties which were once a part of every scandal in the country are now opposing the step. Speaking to the media persons outside the Parliament, the minister said that those didn’t consider scandals to be a blunder are now voicing concerns over the step.
The minister took a dig at the previous UPA Government during whose time the country saw 2G and Commonwealth games scam and said that the present government was convinced that the measure taken by the government to stop black money menace was correct.

Taking a dig at Opposition parties further, Arun Jaitley said that on the first day of the ongoing winter session of the Parliament, there was no pre-conditions by the Opposition, however soon they started creating ruckus in both Houses of the Parliament demanding the presence of the prime minister in the Parliament. He also added that government was ready for the debate anytime and it’s the Opposition, which is running away from it.
He further said that during the debate in the Rajya Sabha today, it was felt that Opposition parties were prepared for discussion. Only thing they wanted was prime minister’s presence in the House. There was mostly noise and no substance in what the Opposition has been saying, he added.
After the Lok sabha was adjourned earlier in the day, the upper House saw constructive debates between the government and opposition parties today, which saw even former prime minister Manmohan Singh also participating. During his speech Manmohan Singh said it was important to take note of the grievances of the people who were suffering.
