Soon after news surfaced that the Indian Army decimated Pakistani army posts in the Naushera sector through a fierce fire-bombing assault that reportedly included rocket launchers and anti-tank missiles on the Line of Control (LoC) as part of its anti-terror operations, Twitter was flooded with the reactions of people to the incident. The news was backed by a video that showed the massive blasts and the complete destruction of the target. Many thanked the Army and Centre for giving the “right message” to Pakistan with the strike. Some also remembered the demand of proof by the Opposition parties during the surgical strikes last time India retaliated against Pakistan, they said that this time the Army has taken an action and also provided the proof as well. PTI reported that the government today came out in support of the Army’s action against Pakistani posts along the LOC involved in aiding infiltration of terrorists into India, saying such measures are needed for peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said the Army is taking such “preemptive” and “measured” actions to counter terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. His response came after the Army today said it had launched “punitive fire assaults” on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control, inflicting “some damage”.
