A militant attack was carried out on the Army convoy of Kralgund, in Handwara town of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir. Militants fired two soldiers of the convoy and fled the scene after carrying out the attack. An operation has been launched to track down the perpetrators.
As per the locals present in the vicinity, the attack occurred on the Baramulla-Handwara highway near Kralgund Udipora village. Previously, militants had launched a similar attack in August, when they attacked an army convoy on the Khawjabagh Baramulla highway resulting in 2 soldiers getting injured and the death of 1 policeman.
On Tuesday, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire along the LoC, the second one in less than a week, with the Pakistani Army pounding Indian positions with 120 mm mortar bombs and firing along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
