Terrorists fired on two vehicles of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force today in Anantnag’s Qazigund area of Jammu and Kashmir, injuring civilian who was moving ahead in his car, an ANI report said. It comes a day after a major infiltration bid was foiled by the army in Uri sector of the state.“In the last 48 hours, infiltration attempts have been foiled at the Gurez, Machhil, Naugam and Uri sectors. Seven armed intruders have been eliminated so far,” said the army had said in a statement as per Indian Express. It further said that intruders trying to cross Line of Control (LoC) were provided active support, which included covering fire by Pakistani forces to help them enter the Kashmir Valley.
The total number of militants killed in last three days in sevaral parts of the state went up to 12, after yesterday’s incident, a PTI report said. According to an army official, a counter-infiltration operation was going on in Uri after the security forces observed terrorists movements, who were trying to enter the valley from across the border. As many as seven terrorists were gunned down in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday in gun battles were security forces. Armed forces also foiled an attempt by terrorists to loot a bank in Pulwama.

Two Pakistani Border Action Team(BAT) members were killed last month, while they were trying to infiltrate into Uri sector to carry out terror attack on soldiers were killed by the Army. This year at least 43 terrorists were killed in different attacks. The Army has also prevent about 23 infiltration attempts along the LoC.
