Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit out at Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal for politicising the Anand Parbat girl murder case by blaming Delhi Police as well as PM Narendra Modi for the incident.
Reacting to the criticism, the BJP posted a 2013 tweet by Arvind Kejriwal in which he had blamed then CM Sheila Dikshit for the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi following public backlash in the aftermath of the bus gangrape incident. Kejriwal had then dubbed her a ‘helpless CM’ and the BJP took this opportunity to show Kejriwal’s shifting stance by comparing that tweet with the one that he posted on Friday in which he blamed PM Modi for not taking care of Delhi’s law and order situation.
“When Sheila Dixit was Delhi CM, he used to criticize her and say that it is Delhi CM’s responsibility to give a safer environment to Delhi people now when he himself is the CM, he blames PM Narendra Modi for everything. Can he stop blaming others and take responsibilities like a sincere and a responsible person?,” BJP had this to say in a statement it released today.
Earlier Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted that Delhi Police is under PM’s control and he should spare a few hours every week to asses the national capital’s law and order situation.
BJP statement further pointed out, “We regret the incidence of murder of a 19 year old girl yesterday. Our sympathy is with her family. May god give her family the strength during this time of grief. We also regret the way Arvind Kejriwal is politicizing this. He has gone down so low to use people’s emotions for his political benefits,” said the statement.
BJP said that Arvind Kejriwal keeps blaming PM Modi for everything and doesn’t shoulder his own responsibilities like a ‘sincere person’.
BJP further said, “We will not go down to his level and start a debate on this, right now we all should come forward and support this family while CM Arvind Kejriwal’s focus is to come in Media, blame PM Narendra Modi and get publicity!!”
