While Uttar Pradesh’s ruling Samajwadi Party is imploding in the midst of a big fight between its top leaders, cracker manufacturers in Allahabad are not missing a chance to taunt the political class. The cracker boxes come with glossy pictures of the SP leaders including Mulayam Singh and Shivpal Yadav. There’s also a dig at Ram Gopal Yadav, the SP leader who was expelled from the party earlier this week with a cracker dedicated to him saying ‘Ramgopal Yadav ki lal mirchi’. Ramgopal, seen as a strong supporter of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, was accused of plotting conspiracies against the party and later sacked.
