Akhilesh Yadav, snatched ‘Cycle’ from Mulayam and gave it to Congress, says BJP

Union Minister of Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu on Monday taunted the SP-Congress alliance saying SP joined hands with Congress as "they've lost confidence. They snatched the cycle from Mulayam Singh and gave it to Congress."

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not let people forget the Samajwadi Party family feud, where Akhilesh Yadav went against his father SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav before the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections and joined hands with Congress.  Union Minister of Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu on Monday taunted the SP-Congress alliance saying SP joined hands with Congress as “they’ve lost confidence. They snatched the cycle from Mulayam Singh and gave it to Congress.”

BJP has made such statements about the alliance before saying that the alliance is made only to divert people’s mind from corruption and malpractices happening in UP.  Naidu along with BJP delegation Nirmala Sitharaman, MA Naqvi went to Election Commission to discuss matters over UP elections an he gave his reaction to the media. He said that he submitted a complaint to EC against Chief Secretary of state and ADG over violation of poll code. “We Demanded removal of DGP of UP,” he said.

In a press conference Naidu termed the Congress-SP alliance as “opportunist and immoral” and said that the family drama of ruling Samajwadi Party is “heading towards tragedy from melody and comedy”.

Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday told media that there is no feud between Akhilesh and himself and he will be campaigning for his son from tomorrow. Yadav also dismissed reports of intra-party differences between his brother Shivpal Yadav and Akhilesh and did not even talk about any new party Shivpal is claiming to form after elections. “There is no bickering…Akhilesh will be the next Chief Minister…I will campaign (for the alliance) from tomorrow,” he said.

Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said on Sunday, “If BSP had been a part of the SP-Congress alliance, then the three parties would have wiped out BJP from Uttar Pradesh.” He was addressing an election rally in Muslim-dominated Kaila Bhatta area, NDTV reported.
UP elections are scheduled for February 11 and the state has the highest number of seats in Lok Sabha. It is believed that if a party has hold on UP it can have better chances in general elections. This year SP-Congress joined hands for UP elections, saying that the alliance is like the meeting of Ganga and Yamuna. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday held a rally in Shamli saying that Akhilesh did good work in UP but with Congress, “there’ll be more speedy work”. He added, “Akhilesh (Yadav) ne accha kaam kiya, par gathbandhan ke saath tezi se kaam hoga.”
