According to the latest development, Akhilesh Yadav may have just made the cut to be fielded as Samajwadi Party’s CM candidate for the 2017 polls. The confirmation came from Kiran Moy Nanda, another SP leader who was earlier the Fisheries Minister.
The statement comes at a time when the party is already dealing with internal rifts, even in the father-son duo of Mulayam Singh and Akhilesh. While they have been constantly in denial of the same, the turn of events and their respective remarks indicate towards a different story altogether.
Akhilesh had gone on to the extent of saying that if nobody stands with him, he’ll campaign alone. While Mulayam has been saying that his leadership in the party is not as respected now as it was earlier. He had also said that who is going to be the CM candidate will be the call of the MPs and elected parliamentary board and not Akhilesh’s.
Today, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also took jibes at the turmoil in the party issues of SP by saying that they (JD-U) were planning to form an anti-BJP party along with Mulayam but as it is, their own party is messed up right now.
Nanda has confirmed Akhilesh’s leadership in UP, as reported by News 18.While the veracity of Nanda’s statement is not yet to be vouched for, it however carries some amount of credibility to it.
