AIADMK crisis Live updates: The Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam factions have sacked jailed leader VK ‘Chinnamma’ Sasikala from the post of the party’s interim general secretary, according to reports. The factions have named late chief minister J Jayalalithaa as the general secretary and their eternal leader. The decision was taken in the general council meeting, the apex decision making body of the party. Meanwhile, AIADMK’s Sasikala faction leader TTV Dhinakaran has rejected the move and challenged the Tamil Nadu CM and Panneerselvam for a fresh election.

6:45 PM: Stalin had on Sunday called on the Governor and urged him to direct the state government to prove its majority in the assembly within a week, in the wake of the revolt by 19 AIADMK MLAs against the Chief Minister last month.
