After Naseemuddin Siddiqui’s expulsion, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on May 13 announced the names of three official media panelists for the party – this is something that has not been done before. The move came as a surprise as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has never had an official spokesperson. The three media panelists are M H Khan, Faizan and Ummed Singh. Mayawati said that the media panelists will put forward their opinions on behalf of the party on all matters, reported Indian Express.

Former BSP minister and Congress leader Anees Ahmed Khan said now that Siddiqui has left, ‘I have rejoined’ the party. The leader also blamed Siddiqui for not letting Muslim leaders move forward. He further made a big revelation and said that Siddiqui was removed from the party on his demand.

Naseemuddin Siddiqui has been one of the most important Muslim faces for BSP for a long time. However, Siddiqui was not the only Muslim face BSP had as its national office bearer. One of the more prominent ones among them is Munquad Ali and he is seen as the next prominent Muslim leader of the party.

BSP chief had expelled Siddiqui from the party saying that she had received complaints against him. She also said that he used to blackmail people for money. She had then added that Naseemuddin was given the responsibility of submiting details of members’ diary which he failed to do till May 9 after which she decided to sack him from the party.

Hiiting back at Mayawati, Nassemuddin said that he was asked to deposit membership money regardless of the fact that he did not have any. He further said that he had met party state headquarters in-charge Ram Avtar Mittal regarding the same. “I met Mittal. He said that I don’t have any membership money pending with me. He also has a record of it. If the record clearly states that I don’t owe any money then how can she (Mayawati) falsely accuse me,” Sidqqui told news agency ANI.
