The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has clarified that its chief Mohan Bhagwat did not speak about reservations being given to weaker sections of the society.

In a statement, the RSS said Bhagwat had said that everybody should strive that all weaker sections of society get the benefit of reservation as was the aspiration of makers of the Constitution.

The statement said, the interview, given by Bhagwat to RSS mouthpiece ‘Organiser’, was not on the subject of reservation, but about integral humanism and should be seen in this context only.

In his interview to Organiser, Bhagwat had suggested setting up of a committee with representatives from civil society to examine who needs the facility and for how long.

I 00% agree with RSS chief may be his language may be different. ONLY ECONOMIC CRITERIA ALONE CAN SOLVE THIS PERENNIAL PROBLEM OF RESERVATION. Lalluji don't politicise this issue it is nothing but vote bank politics

I do agree with the remarks of Sh.Bhagwat. Some of the benefactors of reservations like Lalu, Nitish, Ram Vilas Paswan, bureaucrats, fat ry getters, mid or high level businessmen should be excluded from the reservation benefits as they are financially able to maintain themselves and their wards. The reservation benefits should go to the ACTUAL NEEDY people not the persons who are using reservation to make money or gain status. Hence, the reservation policy should require periodical review. I am happy to see that Mr.Bhagwat have the courage to raise the issue for the better future of poors/down-troddens.
