Adani Power Limited’s Vice President, Deepakrashmi Tripathi on allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in a city hotel in Jaipur on Monday. Although, he has not named anyone in his suicide note. In the suicide note that was recovered, Tripathi had stated that he was fed up with his life and took full responsibility for his actions. The note also said that nobody else was to be held accountable for his suicide. Tripathi was rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where he was declared dead, a senior officer of the Ashok Nagar Police station told ToI.
The officer also said that based on the information they could collect yet, it appeared that there was no outside influence involved in the case. Although, he informed the reporters that they would thoroughly investigate the case and other possible reasons for death. The 61-year old VP had arrived in Jaipur on October 11 for some social work from Ahmedabad. He was staying in Hotel Fortune since October 13. His suicide saw the light of the day when Rajnish Pandey, his colleague rang him up on Saturday.
It was reported that Pandey had been calling him over the morning but TRipathi’s phone remained unanswered. That is when Pandey reached the hotel. The officer admitted that the hotel administration informed the police of the incident. The police informed about the tragedy to Tripathi’s family and following post-mortem, handed over the body to them.
