Aarushi Talwar murder case verdict Live Updates: The Allahabad High Court today declared Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar ‘innocent’ in the murder case of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar. Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar were sentenced to life after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad convicted them for the gruesome killings of their daughter and their domestic help Hemraj. Aarushi was found murdered in her bedroom in the flat in Jal Vayu Vihar On May 16, 2008.

2:50 PM: In January, the Allahabad High Court had reserved its judgment on an appeal filed by dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar challenging their conviction by a CBI court in 2013 for the murder of their 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj.

2:45 PM: A division bench comprising justices Bala Krishna Narayana and Arvind Kumar Mishra reserved judgment on the criminal appeal challenging the order passed by special CBI court at Ghaziabad on November 26, 2013 whereby the couple had been awarded life sentence for the double-murder in May 2008.

2:40 PM: The couple is currently lodged at Dasna jail in Ghaziabad. Nupur was recently out on parole for a few weeks following a High Court order on August 29, 2016.

2:34 pm: As the case drew prominence, the then Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati handed it over to CBI. During the CBI investigation, narco-analysis tests were conducted on the parents.

2:30 pm: However, in December, 2010, CBI submitted a closure report to the court on the grounds of ‘insufficient evidence’, giving a clean chit to all the servants and citing Rajesh Talwar as the prime suspect.
