Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab state in-charge Sanjay Singh on Thursday reacted to the allegations made by suspended AAP leader Kapil Mishra about foreign tours made by 5 party leaders and released the pictures of his foreign tours to Russia, the United States and Nepal. According to the Indian Express, Sanjay Singh released these pictures to clarify if the leaders had been on these foreign tours for party related works or for personal matters. Speaking to the Indian Express, he said that there had been a lot of questions about Aam Aadmi Party leaders making foreign tours. Defending the party, he said that political leaders from every party go abroad but only the Aam Aadmi Party’s foreign tours were being advertised as an anti-national act.
Singh started with the pictures of his Nepal tour, we had gone with Somnath Bharti, right after the massive earthquake. He said that these were pictures of them working in the villages of Nepal. Singh also spoke about Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sambit Patra who had allegedly called them anti-nationals. He said, “I have been seeing news reports that claim I have three bungalows of Rs 5 crore each. Will anyone care to come and see that I live in a rented house? Why don’t the investigating agencies put heaven and earth together to investigate all our activities.” “As for the Russia trip, that was for a family friend’s wedding and the tickets were sponsored by them”, he claimed.
Sanjay Singh also showed pictures of his Vancouver and Canada tours and said that these were a part of the Aam Aadmi Party’s overseas fund generation campaign. Speaking out against the BJP, Singh said that the AAP did not need a certificate from the BJP about honesty. “BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari and the entire BJP approaches the Election Commission to cancel the registration of our party. Why? Do they think this country is their fiefdom?”, he added.
