As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) crisis worsens, senior leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav today attacked Arvind Kejriwal and accused him of stifling internal
party democracy and adopting unfair means to capture power at a press conference in Delhi.

Both Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav said that any issue raised by them was being projected as questioning Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership of AAP and attempts to remove him from the post of party’s national convenor.

Commenting on Arvind Kejriwal’s functioning style, Bhushan identified two ‘fatal shortcomings’ which can potentially damage the party in the long run.

“He wants his decisions to be final. He cannot work with people who have differing voices and stand up to him. He thinks his intentions are right but means should be clean as well. That is not enough, means matter a lot,” Bhushan said while citing Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi’s government and the Gujarat riots when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of the state.

“They also thought their intentions were right,” he said.

Bhushan quoted Kejriwal as saying that he cannot be part of any institution where his writ does not run.

The duo said there was no internal democracy in the AAP and continuous efforts are being made to defame them ahead of the meeting of National Council.

Yadav said there must be an internal probe by the party Lokpal into seizure of liquor allegedly from a godown of a party candidate ahead of the Delhi elections and receiving of Rs 2 crore as donations.

They also released a letter written to party national secretary Pankaj Gupta listing issues to be discussed at tomorrow’s National Council meeting.

Bhushan also demanded that all the party meetings should be videographed to ensure transparency.

“They said they would not allow mobile phones inside the National Council meeting whereas other parties allow journalists in such meetings,” Bhushan said.

Yadav said he was offered the post of Haryana in-charge which he never asked for.

“They were saying they will offer me ‘Navin-mukt’ Haryana whereas I never asked for any such post,” he said, while adding Kejriwal camp was referring to his detractor Navin Jaihind.

prashant and Modi are alike in using that kind of language for AK. Both are ambitious and dealers of IDEAS. Modi is darling of businessmen and kejriwal is loved by people. PB must get his MYOPIA cured

Kejriwal in order to prove his superiority and the leadership that he did not like being questioned, may become PM of India but he cannot be part of the movement and the idea for which the AAP was born. Kejriwal's AAP is another party that cannot be distinguished on any standard. Where is that Kejriwal who preached people do not practice arrogance, the height of arrogance that Kejriwal has demonstrated is epitome of hypocrisy.

We always know that India's smartest people stay in Delhi but by electing Kejriwal they proved our notion as wrong. Let Delhite suffer for another 4 years 10 months, now they have to count the day.

Mr Prashant Bhushan does not know how many riots have taken place in India after 1947 and who were responsible.........being an advocate he must be knowing that Modi stands absolved after SIT of Supreme Court gave verdict in his favor. He must bear in mind that Gujrat riots took place after Godhra incident.....torching of train was a conspiracy of Congress unit of Gujarat state. If you still think Khujliwal is better man than Modi ....then go lick your own spit.
