In yet another shocking incident reported by local channels such as Manorama, a restaurant owner at Vyttila was stabbed to death by an angry customer in broad daylight. Forty-year-old Johnson, the deceased, was stabbed in his neck by a 27-year-old taxi driver called PS Ratheesh, whom the police said had committed this crime in an inebriated state.
As per local reports, this is how the entire incident took place. The taxi driver had come to the restaurant and ordered a plate of vadas. However, the quality did not meet his expectations. He raised the issue with the restaurant owner and there was an altercation regarding the quality of vada that was served. This incident took place at 1 PM on Wednesday.

At the time, the restaurant owner Johnson told his customer to leave the restaurant and not disturb him anymore. He left the premises, went to a beer parlor where he became inebriated and reportedly stopped Johnson who was returning to the restaurant after purchasing a banana. He attacked Johnson in broad daylight. Although Johnson was rushed to the nearest hospital, he could not be saved and his ”customer” who stabbed him has been absconding. As per local reports, the Maradu police are on the lookout for him and they have launched a probe.
