West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has emerged as a desperate politician after demonetisation, like her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal, to hog the national limelight even if it takes a lie. Mamata was the first politician in the country who launched an all out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter announced the demonetisation of old Rs 1000 and Rs 500 currency notes on November 8. Kejriwal and the rest joined the noise soon.

In the last few weeks since demonetisation, Mamata has said so many things that would have surprised even some of her most genuine admirers. There is no doubt that crores of people are facing difficulties after note ban but Mamata’s rants do not help improve the situation. One wonders from where the West Bengal CM has suddenly got so much hatred against PM Modi that she has even vowed on her life to throw him out of politics. Her critiques would happily point out the rampant black businesses, like chit funds operating in her state, and flow of fake currency notes into India through some pockets of West Bengal as the reasons of her angst against PM Modi.

We don’t want to get to such conclusion. But we are share here five bizarre post-demonetisation statements made by Banerjee that tell a lot about the dirty politics she has delved into.

1. Army is lying, West Bengal facing coup

Mamata Banerjee locked herself up at the state government secretariat “guarding our democracy” on Thursday and claimed that the Indian Army’s presence at Toll Plazas in the state was akin to a military coup. She even accused the army of lying.

The Eastern Command of the Indian Army said the presence of soldiers was a part of the routine exercise in all North-East state. “Army conducting routine exercise with full knowledge & coord with WB Police. Speculation of army taking over toll plaza incorrect @adgpi,” the Eastern Command tweeted from its official handle.

On Friday, India Today reported that the routine exercise was already planned in advance and the state government had all information about it. One may wonder if Banerjee is chief of a state or an independent country. When was the last time you saw Army carrying out a coup in any state of any federal country in the world?

2. ‘I’ll die or live but will remove PM Modi from Indian politics’

On November 18, the West Bengal chief minister pledged to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Indian politics. Banerjee took this pledge while taking part in a protest march against demonetisation in Kolkata. “Today, I am taking the pledge that either I’ll die or live but will remove PM Modi from Indian politics,” Banerjee told her supporters during a protest rally against demonetisation in Kolkata. Her statement surprised everyone over the extent she would go to throw PM Modi out of politics.

3. Nitish Kumar is a ‘gaddar’ (betrayer)

During a dharna in Patna on Wednesday, Banerjee flayed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. Without naming Kumar, she called him a ‘gaddar’. Banerjee said, “gaddari karne walon ko nahin chhodenge (betrayers will not be spared)”. Kumar has openly supported the demonetisation and boycotted any opposition group protesting against the move.

Incidentally, Kumar enjoys a clean image in a state like Bihar, which is infamous in the country for its dirty politics. Who should get people’s trust then — Banerjee or Kumar?

4. PM Modi has created more havoc than Hitler

On November 24, Mamata Banerjee said that PM Modi is a ‘Hitler’ causing inconvenience to the people through the demonetisation. “You couldn’t even recover black money from Swiss banks, but creating inconvenience for those with white money. You’ve created more havoc than Hitler,” Banerjee said shortly after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee.

So far PM Modi has disappointed everyone by not making any Hitler-like statement, though many in the country had expected of him when he came to power in 2014.

5. “PM Ji you think you alone are intelligent”

On November 29, reports said that PM Modi has asked all BJP MPs and MLAs to submit details of the bank transaction done by them during November 8 to December 31. While many saw it as an honest gesture, Mamata couldn’t take the move lightly. So she took a dig at the PM, saying he is not the only intelligent politician. “Why only account details from Nov 8 ? Just 3 weeks. Why not last 2 1/2 years all details ? PM Ji you think you alone are intelligent…and the rest are … ??? After your 21 days of note bandi, the whole country is ghar bandi , so why this farce?.” Sure, Banerjee is also intelligent, so much so that she can raise an alarm of military coup in a state.

Bihar was written off till one Kumar came to power and salvaged it to become a more productive State. Similarly, there were hopes that Didi could also pull Bengal out of the abyss it has been living in, due to Communists' misrule. But, it appears that Mamatas and Kejriwals and their like are fit only to play the role of PERMANENT OPPOSITION PARTIES and incapable of governance. It is too high a price to pay for democracy ! PEOPLE HAVE TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WITH THEIR VOTING RIGHTS..

Mamta, no doubt has welfare of people in her mind and wants to help them. Hope she does look at some items which are directly in her control One small example: in w of Salt lake, Kolkata area there is only one stamp vendor at Bikash Bhavan, Karunamoyee. Small value i.e. 10/20 Rs. paper is not available at all with him. Any one intending to buy any other denomination has to queue up for 1-2 hr. Then there are limits like only two pieces can be bought by anyone etc. All this in a building which is seat of major govt. offices. All involved must be aware. The problem can be easily solved by allowing more vendors in area. Guess Mamtaji will also take care of such small problems too while protesting queues at ATM. More items can be listed let us see if is sorted out.

Of course, she is taking the politics to new low. When CPM can go, she will also go before long. Modi Bhai is able Prime Minister of India. He has taken bold step for the nation. Most of the people agree with this. Our Prime Minister also knows if he fails, he will go for ever. At least he is trying ignoring the odds. What she is doing in Bengal, not to mention, all know. Rulling Party MLA/MP are behind the bar on corruption charges, shame. In democracy all have the right of criticism, but there is a LAKSHMAN REKHA. She is a fighter no doubt, but she should understand that now she is a CHIEF MINISTER OF A STATE which produced great sons of India. People of India are with our Prime Minister, Prime Minister of all. So, God will definitely help him in his sincere endeavor.

Mamta Banerjee must have lost lot of money in the demonetisation drive, otherwise why would she rant like a mad person. What is she talking about a 'coup'... does she know what a coup is? She should have been a munil councillor and not more. And we have another incompetent person talking about TRP.... whose only reason to be where he is, is because of the nincoms in congress who have to hold on to the dynastic sari or whatever

Not sure what is she banking on to oust Modi from Indian politics? Unlike Commies Modi is neither incompetent, inefficient or Corrupt so not going to be easy for Mamta to oust him on that count. Moreover, she is now very much a part of 'establishment' unlike those days when she was fighting ruling left in Bengal as an outsider. Her absolutely pathetic record of Governance in Bengal is not something to talk about at the national level. On the contrary, Modi by demonetization has endeared and further entrenched himself as the champion of poor. My point is simple--why is she bent on taking Modi head on? Politics doesnt seem to be the reason as explained above. Does she have any other reason like Sarda or Narda where it is widely believed that she and her TMC cadre made a huge buck. or is she being blackmailed by foreign spy agencies such as stan's ISPR who may be aware of her corruption especially hawala transactions via Dubai? More so because she is talking against Indian Army which is No 1 enemy of stana nd ISI. Given this, media has a responsibility to discuss these point threadbare in public and call her bluff but how can you expect it from Indian media who like their political masters (some fo them especially those who indulged in corruption or had illicit relationships) have been compromised too

Its ridiculous that there is no education within politics. The limits of bureaucracy have been broken and everyone wants to unite against one guy who is bent on doing good for the nation.

Both born at different places, at different time and from different parents, how much they appear to be TWINS. Mamta and Kejriwal. Both not doing any thing for people who have elected them, both wear simple clothes, both project themselves to be clean & honest but being opposite, both see PM conspiring against them (Kejriwal - PM mujhe maar dalegha, now Mamta plane not landing for some time see danger to her life), both born lairs, both create imagery issue - the list is endless. Hope Delhi and WB people teach them lesson in next emble election.

Mamta bannerjee is a traitor. She has lost her sanity and so is his half brother kejriwal. She thinks that she can change the mind of people all over india who give a damm to her thinking. Let her fool the people of bengal. Although bengalis are smart, I don't know how come they fell to this treacherous, evil, corrupt leader. But her days are numbered and she doesn't have any support Base outside bengal. Let her rant and whine against demonetisation. It doesn't makes an iota of difference. If need be, bengal should be put under presidents rule and remove her forcibly from office. These criminals and TMC goons are a burden to our society and bengal.
