In a recent survey conducted by Appystore.in, it was found that 34 per cent fathers in India spend conscious time with their kids daily while mothers spend twice as much time with their kids daily.
The survey undertaken across tier 1 and tier 2 cities also revealed that more than 80% fathers use digital medium to impart new concepts to their kids while only 20% mothers rely on internet and social media for information.
Mothers were found to be key decision makers with 77% taking unilateral decisions for the child’s education and development.
“The survey has shown different approaches to parenting amongst fathers and mothers. As a father myself I can relate to the fact that fathers are increasingly active when it comes to the learning and development of their kids,” said Manoj Barot, Director Marketing, Mauj Mobile.
Half of the number of fathers surveyed stressed on the importance of extra-curricular activities and 40 per cent of them compared their kids with others.
With a participation of 1167 parents, the survey said that fathers are more indulgent and 73% fathers spend more than Rs. 500 per month on fun learning tools for their child.
