Six people have been reported injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan forces in J&K’s RS Pura sector on Monday. This is the second ceasefire violation by Pakistan in two days. In today’s attack, Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Noushera sector and RS Pura sector on International Border by targeting Indian positions and civilian population . Indian side was also prompted to give a befitting response. “From 10 AM, Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in Noushera sector of Rajouri district by targeting our positions with mortar bombs and small arms fire”, an army officer said. He said the army was giving a “befitting response” to the ceasefire violation from the Pakistani side.
Earlier, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was martyred and another was injured when Pakistan Rangers violated ceasefire twice on late Sunday night. In the unprovoked firing, BSF Head Constable Sushil Kumar was hit by a splinter in his chest while retaliating the Pakistan fire. The Jawan was first administered first aid and evacuated to Government medical college and hospital in Jammu. However, the soldier succumbed to his injuries fighting at 12.30am on Monday.
Assistant sub-inspector RD Puri was also injured in the exhange of fire. Pakistan had violated the ceasefire along the IB, as Pakistani Rangers used small arm fire to target Indian posts. The attacks come just after Additional director general, BSF, Arun Kumar, had issued a warning to Pakistan. Kumar had said that Pakistan will have to face dire consequences if any BSF Jawan was targeted.
