MUMBAI, OCT 16: A brace by Dennis Saldanha was the highlight of Village Amboli's 2-0 victory over eight-strong Saki Village Boys in the MDFA-conducted Harwood football league at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today.Saldanha struck first in the 13th minute. He beat goalkeeper Edward D'Souza with a neat header after receiving a pass from Joseph Pires.
Three minutes later, Saldanha struck again. This time he got the better of goalkeeper Edward with a powerful top-of-the-box effort.
Saki Village played better in the second session but their forwards failed to find the target.
In Division III-B, Bombay Republicans beat Deablers 3-1. Ashton D'Souza (2) and Amir Jada scored for the winners and Tejas Kumar reduced the margin.
