Cyclone alert in Mumbai todayMUMBAI: Reports received by Colaba Weather Bureau on Friday indicate Mumbai city and its suburbs will be under influence of cyclonic storms located 500 km west of Mumbai. Due to cyclone effect, strong gale speed wind, 60 to 70 km per hour, with heavy thunder showers are likely to hit the city. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea. Local cautionary signal number three is hoisted at all ports from Dahanu to Raigad, including Mumbai. The cyclone location at 5.30 in the evening was 18.5 degree north latitude and 68 degree east longitude. The cyclone will hit the South Gujarat coast tomorrow afternoon.
Nuclear power aid
MUMBAI: India was ready to cooperate with developing countries in the nuclear power sector bilaterally and multilaterally, according to Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Dr Anil Kakodkar. Kakodkar said India was ready to take up any programme that the International Atomic Energy Agency recommended.
