Clifford Nichfield, taking advantage of the defence lapse, scored both the goals for the winners while Susmit Ghosh found the reducer for Springdales.

Frank Anthony went ahead in the 24th minute when Michfield connected a pass past an advancing goalkeeper. The Springdales goalkeeper, in fact, let the ball slip away under his hands.

Vasant Valley International School, Vasant Kunj trounced DAV School, Dayanand Vihar 5-0 in pool C after leading 2-0 at the interval. Guneet S Tandon scored two goals while Gurab Singh, Karan Lamba and substitute Jasmeet S Kochar scored once each.

Army Public School, Ridge Road, got the better of Modern School, Barakhamba Road 3-1 in pool E. Dushyant Kumar Singh, Vibhu Mehta and Naender scored for the winners who led 1-0 at the interval. For Modern, Gautam netted the lone goal.

LSR, JMC win
LSR beat IP College 24-20 while JMC defeated SRCC 51-9 in the women's section of Captains' basketball tournament. In the boys section, St Stephen's College defeated Khalsa College 53-42 and Hindu downed PGDAV 90-41.
