Three people were killed and three injured in separate incidents in the sub-division since last night.

The All Adivasi Council's president Simon Soren's 16-year old son, Deepak Kumar Soren, was abducted by unidentified Bodos last night and his body with bullet injuries was recovered from Gossaigaon town today, sources said.

Official sources said that several houses were set ablaze today by adivasis in two remote villages of the sub-division -- Reshamguri and Balimari.

The number of houses burnt were yet to be ascertained and reports of any casualty was not received as the police team that had rushed to the two remote villages were yet to return, the sources said.

The Assam director general of police K Hrishikeshan, accompanied by senior civil and police officials todayreviewed the situation in the sub-division.

The Kokrajhar deputy commissioner John Ingti Kathar said that the Army was standing by in Gossaigaon to assist the civil authorities in maintaining law and order.

In a separate incident, three adivasi youths were attacked by unidentified Bodos with `kukris' and other lethal weapons killing two of them on the spot and seriously injuring another. The injured was admitted to Gossaigaon civil hospial.

In another incident, two adivasis, identified as Sera Memran and Sefal Murmu, were injured late last night when Bodo militants shot at them at Gossaigaon town. The injured were admitted to Gossaigaon civil hospital.

Bodo militants also made an abortive attempt to burn a wooden bridge adjacent to Joyma relief camp near Borobadha in Gossaigaon subdivision today. The ultras abandoned their plan on arrival of police and fled away.

Another attack by adivasis armed with their traditional bows and arrows as well as .303 rifles on a Bodo relief camp was averted by policein the subdivision last night.
