Another mishap at ONGC installation

In a second mishap that occured at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) offshore installations at Bombay High within a month, the spudcan (leg) of Sagar Lakshmi, a jack up platform, broke while being shifted late this evening. The platform was being shifted from the Panna field (used by Reliance-Enron) to B-173 when the spudcan snapped.

20 LTTE men killed in Operation Jaya Sekuru

At least 25 combatants have died since the military restarted its operation in northern Sri Lanka and captured a key area in territory held by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), the military headquarters said. In what has been dubbed as the "final phase" of the six-month operation in the Vanni, soldiers advanced further north from the Oddusudan area during the weekend and were confronted by large groups of LTTE fighters.
