Anakapalle MP's brother shot dead by PWG Naxals

VISAKHAPATNAM, May 10: In a case of mistaken identity, Naxalites belonging
to the Nagulakonda Dalam of the Peoples' War Group (PWG) killed Srinu, the
youngest brother of Anakapalle MP C H Ayyanna Patrudu, at KD Peta in the
agency area of Vizag district last evening.
According to preliminary reports reaching here, Srinu, who had gone to
Lingampeta village near K D Peta to discuss some issues with the village
elders, was accosted by the Naxalites near the village and questioned about
his involvement in the murder of Jaya Rao, an organiser of the Radical Youth
League in 1991.
Even before Srinu could reply to their queries, the Naxals shot him dead in
the presence of the village elders. Later it was learnt that the target of
the Naxals was another Srinu, who was responsible for the murder of Jaya Rao
in 1991. Meanwhile, Naxalites belonging to the PWG blasted a cashew
processing unit and rice mill belonging to Malla Papa Rao at Palasa on May 8.
Twenty Naxalites came to the factory at Goppili Road in Palasa mandal and
blasted it with gelatin sticks. Machinery worth Rs 13 lakh was destroyed
along with a jeep belonging to the factory.
