No additional cess on petrol, diesel for now
  The decision on levying additional cess on petrol and diesel for financing the second phase of the Rs 54,000-crore national highway development project has been deferred “for the moment.”
Imports of 300 items post 1.3 pc growth
  Imports of 300 “sensitive” commodities, which are currently being allowed without any quantitative restrictions, registered a meager 1.30 per cent growth during April-November this fiscal over the same period last year.

  The government has notified detailed guidelines for allowing foreign direct investment in defence sector specifying a three-year lock in period for transfer of equity and appointment of an Indian as CEO.
Central Electricity Bill referred to House panel
  Suitable amendments should be made in the Central Electricity Bill, 2001, to vest the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission to fix uniform and preferential tariffs on a long-term basis for purchase of power generated from renewables and co-generation plants, demanded the Indian Sugar Mills Association.
