Lee jeans, the premium jeanswear brand from Arvind Brands
Ltd, has been awarded the ‘Most Popular Jeans Brand of the
Year’ trophy at the second Images Fashion awards - IFA 2001,
held in Mumbai recently. The award is based on the results
of a mega consumer survey conducted by ORG Marg, of more than
5,000 upmarket consumers across 11 major cities, as well as
industry nominations. Last year Lee bagged the ‘Most Admired
Jeans Brand’ award.
Arrow, another garments brand from the Arvind stable, received
the IFA 2001 Hall of Fame award for ‘The Most Popular Shirt
& Trouser Brand of the Year’. Arvind Brands also received
the IFA 2001 Hall of Fame award for ‘The Most Popular Apparel
Company of the Year’.
Says Arvind Brands vice president Mr Janak Dave: ‘‘Lee’s success
is largely due to its thorough understanding of fit, fabric
and finishes. It’s winning an award for two years running
is a reflection of the brand’s commitment to fashion and the
equity it enjoys with target consumers.’’
The Images Fashion Awards 2001 honoured outstanding performers
among brand and retail professionals, companies and new product
launches during the period October 2000-September 2001. The
winners were decided on the basis of a scientific aggregation
of various factors influencing purchasing behaviour based
on top-of-the-mind recall, actual purchases and consumers’
choice for the next buy.
