launches first generation Internet TV
Indore, Jan 2: Electronic goods major
Videocon International has launched the first generation Internet
TV for the domestic market.
Announcing the launch here on Tuesday, company president PN
Dhoot said the company aims to sell two to three lakh units
in the current year. The TV set has been priced in the range
of Rs 15,000 to Rs.23,000, he said.
‘The year 2002 would see manufacturing
of internet based TVs and appliances, monitors, DVDs with
internet and inverter based high-tech air-conditioners among
others’, Mr Dhoot said.
Speaking on the occasion, Nai Dunia chief editor of Abhay
Chhajalani highlighted the need to introduce Internet TV based
on Hindi language software to widen its reach.
