Lodha is new president, Muthiah senior VP, Modi VP

New Delhi, Dec 6: Rajendra S Lodha has taken over as
president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (Ficci) for the year 2001-02.
Dr AC Muthiah and Mr Yogendra K Modi have
been elected as senior vice-president and vice-president of
Ficci, respectively. They were elected by the newly constituted
committee of Ficci, which met on Thursday under the chairmanship
of its President RS Lodha.
Mr Lodha is the first professional to take over as Ficci president.
He took over the presidentship at the conclusion of the 74th
annual session of Ficci on Thursday. Mr Lodha is also the
vice-president of the Indian Council of Arbitration. He is
a senior partner of the leading accounting and consulting
firm M/s Lodha & Co, which is the Indian member firm of
BDO International (the 6th largest international accounting
firm having annual billing in excess of $2.2 billion).
Dr Muthiah heads Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation
(SPIC), one of industrial conglomerates in the country with
diversified activities. He is also a member of the Prime Minister’s
advisory council on trade and industry.
Mr Yogendra K Modi is the Chairman of YKM Holdings, a leading
business group of India. Mr Modi is a member of the Dean’s
Council at the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard
University, USA.
